I couldn’t get this shape out of my mind so I finally had to put it together in Illustrator this morning. I’m loving the simplicity and how smoothly this came together.
Month: February 2016
ABC
My sister and I decided to splurge and invest in a Silhouette Cameo together. Let me just say, this thing is amazing. I decided to try out the design software and recreate this work of 3D type inspired by Gina Hollingsworth. I love how this turned out.
Let’s go on an Adventure
I was looking on Unsplash and was so inspired by the images there that I wanted to make a graphic with one of those pictures. I decided to design an icon and some text to go with it.
Monotype Printing
I took a monotype printing class last night at Open House Creative in Costa Mesa. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be, but it was awesome getting to do some printmaking and learn a new technique. Here’s one of the prints I made on newsprint.
Chevron // Pattern Design
Here’s the third and final pattern in this series. I’m super happy with how all of them turned out and I can wait to get them printed!
Arrows // Pattern Design
Here’s the second pattern I made in this little three part series. I’m hoping to make these into greeting cards & envelope liners when I’m done with all three patterns to give to one of the best people I know for her birthday.
Feathers // Pattern Design
I wanted to try my hand at making a super simple repeatable pattern. I love how this one turned out.
Fitness Birds
Probably about a year ago now, I was playing Cards Against Humanity with some friends and one misread “flightless birds” as “fitness birds”. It was hilarious and we couldn’t stop laughing. Since then I’ve been meaning to make what I had pictured that night into an illustration and today I finally did.
Me // New Avatar
I had been using the same avatar since college. Since then, I’ve changed and my illustration style has changed so this morning I decided to make a new avatar. A lot clearer, simpler, and more modern. I’m loving it. Let me know what you think!
Sunday Sundae
Here’s a quick sundae icon I made for Valentine’s Day because, let’s be honest, ice cream is my true love.
